Kerry is a classically trained soprano comfortable singing Opera, Musical Theatre and Contemporary Styles

Originally from Northern California, Kerry moved to Scotland in 2005. She is currently a Singing Coach at GAMTA
and has been teaching privately and in the academic sector for 15 years. While working on her Master's Degree in Voice Performance at the University of North Texas she held a Teaching Fellowship, teaching undergraduate music majors and minors and assisting Vocal Jazz students with their Classical proficiency requirements. She was also a recipient of a graduate Opera Scholarship. As an undergraduate at Western Oregon University she recieved a study award from the San Francisco Opera. Kerry recieved a Doctorate in Musical Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a Teaching Assistant for her Major Professor Darlene Wiley. She worked with Professor Wiley in the CASA Vocal Arts Lab , where singers use digital interactive technology to see how their voices work. Kerry also taught singing lessons to Music Majors and Minors as well as Introduction to Singing Classes in the University Extension Program. While finishing her Doctorate Kerry took a teaching position at Concordia University in Austin. She taught Voice lessons and Vocal technique classes for 6 years at Concordia before moving to Scotland. . |
